New York homeowners need short-term rentals

Make Your Voice Heard

Critical to Our Survival

We are a group of homeowners, small businesses and neighbors in Brooklyn who support NYC homeowners’ right to use their properties how they see fit without abusing the short-term rental system.

Change is Possible

The New York City Council has the power to make common-sense fixes to Local Law 18 this year. But, we must make our voices heard.

Local Law 18 Just Isn't Working

Short-term rentals are a critical survival tool

for NYC homeowners  to pay their mortgages, keep up their properties, and stay in their homes

Outer borough homeowners are basically disqualified

from registering their properties as short-term rentals if they go on holiday, away for a weekend or out for a night

What was intended as a law to crack down on big investors

has now impacted everyday homeowners who rent out their spare room to make ends meet

Local Law 18 is disproportionately affecting people of color

who are more likely to rely on rental income to be able to afford to stay in their homes

Without a common-sense fix,

Local Law 18 is hurting decent, middle class homeowners and sending tourism dollars away from our small businesses and communities

Local Law 18 will drive families out of their homes

and disrupt communities causing many to look to other neighborhoods where short-term rentals are allowed
